Berlin-Ichthyosaur State Park continues offering guided Fossil House tours at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays through Nov. 1, according to the Nevada Division of State Parks schedule. The park, about 23 miles east of Gabbs via SR 844, protects both the ghost town of Berlin and the state’s notable ichthyosaur fossil concentration.

The grounds are open year-round. Day-use fees are $5 for Nevada vehicles and $10 for non-residents; camping is available at 14 sites suitable for smaller RVs. Drinking water is typically available through the end of October. Seasonal fire restrictions remain in effect at some Nevada State Parks; visitors should use only designated fire rings and follow posted rules.

Access roads are unpaved for the final stretch and can become rough or limited by weather at the roughly 7,000-foot elevation. Self-guided townsite tours and the nature trail to the Fossil House remain available. No cell service is typical at the park.

Tour availability depends on staffing and conditions; call the park at 775-427-9332 before traveling. This update relies on the official parks.nv.gov listing and does not reflect real-time road or weather closures on SR 844.
