Berlin-Ichthyosaur State Park continues offering guided Fossil House tours at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays through Nov. 1, according to Nevada State Parks. Summer daily tours have ended for the season.

The park, about 23 miles east of Gabbs via SR 844, preserves the Berlin ghost town and the large ichthyosaur fossil concentration. Self-guided townsite exploration, camping (14 units, water typically available through October), and day-use facilities remain available. Entrance is $5 for Nevada vehicles ($10 non-resident); tours are $5 for adults, free for children 12 and under. Cash or check only.

This weekend’s incoming wind, showers and cooler temperatures could affect road conditions on SR 844 and higher elevations or lead to tour adjustments. No cell service is available at the park; services are limited in nearby Gabbs and Ione.

Call the park at 775-427-9332 or check parks.nv.gov before traveling. Source note: Schedule and fees confirmed from the official Nevada State Parks Berlin-Ichthyosaur page as of early October 2026; always verify same-day status with park staff, especially with the weather shift.
