Drivers traveling through Gabbs Valley and the surrounding basin faced no major highway closures Sunday evening, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol current incidents list updated around 7 p.m.

Listed activity remained concentrated outside the local corridor—scattered motorist assists, debris and crashes on I-15, I-80 and urban Las Vegas routes. A motorist assist was noted on U.S. 6 in Nye County earlier in the evening, with possible delays only.

The temporary overnight closure of U.S. 95 between I-80 and Tarzyn Road north of Fallon for Union Pacific rail-crossing work ended midday Oct. 4 as scheduled. NDOT had advised alternate routes via U.S. 50 during that window.

SR 361 between Gabbs and Middlegate, Pole Line Road, SR 844 toward Berlin-Ichthyosaur, and U.S. 95 through Hawthorne remained open under normal conditions in available reports. No chain controls or weather-related restrictions appeared for the basin.

Road status can change quickly. Call 511, visit nvroads.com or check NHP roadhazards.nv.gov before departure, especially after dark or if winds pick up.
