The next major Best in the Desert off-road event on the calendar is the Laughlin Desert Classic, set for Oct. 15-19 in the Laughlin area.

According to the series schedule, the loop race wraps the current American Off-Road Racing Championship season after the Parker 400, Mint 400, Silver State 300 and the 30th-anniversary Casey Folks Vegas to Reno (run “the other way” from Reno southward in August).

Racers, crews and spectators heading to southern Nevada events often use U.S. 95 corridors that pass near Hawthorne and connect northward toward Fallon and the Gabbs Valley. Standard desert-travel precautions apply: carry water, spare tires, communications and check 511 for any temporary restrictions.

Entry lists, spectator guides, camping and contingency details are posted on bitd.com as they become available. Schedules and venues can adjust for BLM permits, weather or other factors.

No other large desert races were confirmed for the immediate Gabbs–Hawthorne–Fallon corridor this week. Verify all event information directly with Best in the Desert before traveling.
