Drivers heading between Fallon and Interstate 80 face a full closure of U.S. 95 this weekend while Union Pacific Railroad replaces a rail crossing.
The highway will shut between I-80 and Tarzyn Road north of Fallon from 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, until noon Sunday, Oct. 4. Through traffic will not be able to use the corridor during that window.
NDOT and Churchill County advise planning ahead and using alternate routes such as U.S. 50 and I-80. The work schedule can shift with conditions.
No similar restrictions were confirmed Friday on SR 361, Pole Line Road, or the Hawthorne corridor. Check nvroads.com or 511 for live updates before traveling the basin.
Source note: Details drawn from NDOT news release and Churchill County notice dated late September; confirm closer to the window as railroad timing can change.
